Introducing Waste Management Industry Veteran, Greg Ross
Greg has Joined WasteStrategies as Regional President
We are pleased to welcome Gregory Ross to the environmental waste management team of WasteStrategies. A waste management industry veteran, Greg will head our Northeast operations team to help build and foster long-term client relationships by linking companies with WasteStrategies' proven services that help organizations achieve specific environmental targets, reduce operating expenses, and mitigate risk.
Prior to joining our team, Greg spent over 20 years working in solid waste, special waste, and recycling-waste stream management roles at companies that include Browning-Ferris Industries (BFI), Allied Waste, and Republic Services. He pioneered an industry-first turnkey approach while at BFI, with his creation of a corporate segmentation service model that matched industry-specific account managers to customers. The process helped both the account team and customer better understand industry regulations and allowed his team to offer greater value and expertise.
Our own John Nicklin (Managing Member of WasteStrategies) met Greg shortly after 2008 when Greg was promoted to Director of National Accounts for the Fortune 400 industrial and recycling accounts of the corporation, Republic. At the time, the historical focus of Republic's team was to negotiate and maintain multi-million dollar special waste agreements for landfill disposal and commodities recycling facilities. Greg expanded this focus to include landfill diversion, minimization and zero waste platforms. He introduced an integrated model that expanded Republic's sourcing of waste streams they did not service directly. This resulted in Republic becoming a sole source provider for all waste and recycling streams including electronic waste, universal waste, medical waste, hazardous waste as well as recycling of all commodities. It was during this process that Greg and John realized their shared vision.
During his tenure in the industry, Greg has managed industry and recycling programs for Fortune 400 companies, and he has been recognized with several awards for his innovative approaches. His far-reaching expertise gives him a unique perspective when helping our clients and his knowledge of environmental regulations will greatly assist companies of all sizes.

Greg will be on hand at this year's Campus Safety Health and Environmental Management Association (CSHEMA) annual conference in Minneapolis July 16-20 to discuss issues related to EPA compliance and zero waste in the college and university setting.
